The Volleyball Academy Assistant Director
Krista Barr
Krista Barr brings a combination of collegiate and club coaching experience to The Volleyball Academy. She is a fundamental coach who believes in a fun teaching environment to help improve all aspects of the game. She began her coaching career as a club coach for River City Juniors where she has taken three of the five teams she has coached ot the USAV Junior Olympic National Tournaments. Krista was also a former Assistant Coach at Bellevue University where she helped lead the Bruins to compete in the 2005 MCAC Conference Championships, a first for the BU Volleyball program.
She is a graduate of Bellevue University where she was a member of the Bruins Volleyball team from 1998-2002. Krista participated in the NAIA National Tournament in 2002 helping the Bruins reach the Elite Eight and finish fifth overall. During Krista's playing career at Bellevue, she participaed in three Region IV Tournaments and was part of a Bruin's team that was rated in the Top 25 Nationally for your final two seasons.
Krista is still active in the volleyball community, playing women's as well as coed. She has competed in 3 USAV Adult National Tournaments. Her women's team, Judo Chop, won the A division and finished 3rd in AA at those National Tournaments.
