The Competitive League

Our Competitive League is our newest league at The Volleyball Academy. It will run similar to the Developmental League as it is a 10 week long league for 5th – 8th graders. However, the Competitive League is designed for more advanced players who understand the basics: positions, base, freeball transition and serve receive. The focus will be on improving each player’s overall game while developing an understanding of the team and strategic aspects of the game.

The Development League

Our Developmental League has become a very popular league at The Volleyball Academy. It will run for 10 weeks for 3rd – 6th graders. The Developmental League has been designed for players who wish to learn more about the game. It is perfect for beginners or those who have a few years of experience in a youth league. We will train the fundamentals as well as specific positions, base, freeball transition and serve receive. The focus is on improving each player’s techniques and skills in a fun and positive learning environment!

Come and join TVA for the 3rd Annual Fall League. Once again, we will be offering the Competitive Division for 5-8th graders to provide opportunities for these players to compete in a quicker-tempo, more game-like training. This Competitive League is extremely popular and due to the demand, TVA is offering it in two different divisions; 5-6th Grade and 7-8th Grade.

Evaluation Night will be August 7th. This night is MANDATORY for those signing up as an individual. If you are signing up as a team (of either 8 or 9) you do NOT have to attend this night. Evaluation times for 5-6th Grade: 4:15-5:15 and 7-8th Grade: 5:30-6:30. This is the only night we will meet at these times.

The remaining 10 weeks, 5-6th Grade will practice from 3:00-5:00 and 7-8th Grade from 5:00-7:00. We will not have League on Labor Day Weekend (Sept 4th).

The teams in this league will have the opportunity to participate in three tournaments competing against other teams in the Omaha Area. The first Tournament will be the weekend of Sept 16-18 (St. Stephen’s Spikefest) at The Courts. October 2 or 9 will be the next tournament (place to be determined), and the last tournament on October 23rd, hosted by TVA. The October 23rd Tournament will also be a Dig Pink Event, sponsored by TVA and The Side-Out Foundation to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness.

Teams participating in the Competitive League will be competing against each other to raise money for the Side-Out Foundation. The team raising the most money will get to have a pizza party on Oct 16th after their League time.

TVA will provide all coaches for each team.
